What are natives of Edinburgh called? People from Glasgow are Glaswegians, and from Paisley are Buddies, but no-one I have met know what those from Edinburgh are called.
Ruth, Teddingto,n UK
- Edinburgers. I kid you not.
Simon Gilman, London UK
- Edinburgundians! or Edinbourgeois
Matt, Brighton UK
- Londoners.
Jc McBeard, Shanghai PRC
- I'm frae Auld Reekie and proud of it. I'm an Edinburgher I suppose.
Shirley, Edinburgh UK
- English
Martin, Cheltenham
- Glaswegains refers to people from Edinburgh as Gits
ELVIS, Glasgow, Scotland
- Being born and bred here I am in a position to say that all the previous answers are wrong. The correct term is Dunediner and refers to the old name of the town, Dunedin, although Edinburgher does seem to be used alot (mainly by Glaswegians).
Seth, Edinburgh UK
- buddies is a term for st mirren fans not people from paisley. "Tuechter - Person from more insignificant area's of Scotland than Glasgow, e.g. Edinburgh" www.urbandictonary.com
iain, barrhead
- I have never been to Edinburgh; all these seems ludicrous. Just say from Edinburgh or Edinburgher. The rest belong to 19th century.
