Clarke Wolfe received death threats after review of Man of Steel

Police have obtained a search warrant for Instagram records after a film critic was threatened with death and rape over her unfavorable review of a Superman movie.

Twisted fans bombarded critic and actress Clarke Wolfe with threats and inappropriate messages after she slammed the superhero movie Man of Steel.

She filed a complaint with Los Angeles police last April after a man who disagreed with her review commented on one of her Instagram posts and threatened to kill her, calling the movie a 'masterpiece'.

In another message on social media, a person wrote: 'They should run a train on you, c***busters. That n***** should have raped and beat you death.'

Los Angeles police are hoping to use the Instagram records to track down the person or people who made the threats, TMZ reported.

The film, starring Henry Cavill as Superman/Clark Kent and Amy Adams as Lois Lane, was released in theaters in 2013, and the threats against Wolfe were made just a few months ago.

Wolfe previously co-hosted the AMC Movie Talk video podcast, but stopped appearing on it after she slammed the film in 2013.

Daily Mail Online has contacted LAPD and Wolfe for comment.
