Dita Von Teese reveals the secret behind her porcelain skin

She's the American burlesque dancer known for her flawless porcelain skin.

And Dita Von Teese told Daily Mail Australia at a David Jones launch party in Sydney on Tuesday, that her beauty regimen is surprisingly simple.

The 47-year-old, who is currently on tour Down Under, said that apart from sunscreen, she is a fan of La Prairie skincare.

When asked the secret to achieving a blemish-free visage, Dita said: 'I don't really do anything specific, but [apart from sunscreen] I do love the range from La Prairie.'

The brunette stunned at the launch of David Jones' luxury beauty and designer acccessories floor launch in a white lace top with puffy sleeves.

She tucked the demure top into a chic high-waisted black skirt and boosted her height with black Christian Louboutin heels.

Dita's dark locks were styled in a retro fashion and her signature makeup included a porcelain base, defined brows, winged eyeliner and a slick of bold red lipstick.

The star, born Heather Renée Sweet, told UK's The Guardian last year that she never desired fame.

'Burlesque has become a place for an alternative feminist movement,' she said. 'I didn't ever think I was going to be famous. I just started doing it because it was fun and something cool that nobody else was doing.'

'We get to decide if we want to be objectified,' Dita added. 'But I recognise that one person's empowerment can be another person's degradation.'
