Game Of Thrones' Maisie Williams reveals she thought Arya Stark's steamy topless scene was a prank

MAISIE Williams has admitted that she originally thought Arya Stark's steamy topless scene in the latest episode of Game of Thrones was a prank.

Fans of the fantasy series were left feeling "weirded out" when the 18-year-old character lost her virginity to Gendry [Joe Dempsie] ahead of the upcoming battle against the army of the dead.

Now 22-year-old Maisie has revealed that her co-star Sophie Turner was the one to reveal that she had nude scenes in the final season of the HBO show because she read the script faster than the young actress.

She told Entertainment Weekly: "Sophie said: 'Whatever you do, you have to skip to this episode, this scene first'.

"At first I thought it was a prank, I was like: 'Yo, good one.'"

Maisie went on to praise showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss for how sensitively they dealt with her first naked scene, with the star growing up in front of the cast and crew after joining the show aged just 11.

She continued: "David and Dan were like: 'You can show as much or as little as you want'.

"So I kept myself pretty private. I don’t think it’s important for Arya to flash.

"This beat isn’t really about that. And everybody else has already done it on the show."

Maisie added: "David and Dan said: 'It’s the end of the world, what else would you have her do?'"

Joe, however, felt slightly more awkward about the scene, with the 31-year-old actor first working with Maisie when she was a child.

He told the publication that he found the situation "slightly strange" but wanted to avoid being "patronising" towards his co-star, explaining: "We just had a lot of fun with it."

Viewers of today's episode of Game of Thrones were shocked when Arya made her move on Gendry just days after they had reunited in Winterfell after years apart.

The feisty character seemed disinterested in many clangers that Gendry had dropped earlier in the scene, including the truth about his parentage and the leech torture he suffered at the hands of Melisandre.

Instead, Arya turned the conversation to Gendry's sexual experiences, telling him that she wanted to have sex before the battle of Winterfell as she accepted that there is a chance that she might die at the hands of the Night King.

The episode ended with the evil ice creature arriving in the North with his huge army, and next week's episode looks set to focus on the fight that will no doubt be the demise of some of our favourite characters.
